Unable to Install/Uninstall because GBM Agent is Running

SYMPTOMS
When installing or uninstalling, you receive the following message: “GBM Agent is running! Please close GBM Agent before continuing installation (uninstalling)” and the install or uninstall process does not begin.

RESOLUTIONS:
You cannot proceed with installing or uninstalling when the GBM Agent is running. This Agent is located in the system tray (where your clock is located). To exit GBM Agent, please refer to one of the two steps:

  • right-click the Agent and click exit, this is clarified in the following Screen Shot

  • If the Agent is not showing in your system tray, go to the task manager> under the process tab end the process GBMAgent.exe
