GBM fails to locate Outlook PST files

SYMTOMS:

When opening My Profile, in GBM and under the data files in your Outlook Profile, no PST files are listed.

CAUSES:

GBM locates the outlook PST files by referring to registry keys; therefore there could be several causes that could cause GBM to fail to identify the PST file: .

  • Configuring your PST file in a non conventional method: That is by directly going to the path of your PST file and manually configuring the name of the file or moving it to a different location

RESOLUTION:

  1. Configuring your PST file in a non conventional method: Configuring PST files in a non-conventional method, will prevent Outlook for registering the correct values in the registry key. To overcome this problem, go to control panel> Mail> and click Data files with the following dialog appearing


  1. Double click the personal folders and then in the Filename textbox, make sure the correct PST file is listed, then click OK.


  2. If is not listed click Add> Select Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst) (Outlook 2003) or Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File (.pst) (Outlook 2000/2002) then click OK, browse and select your PST file.
