Mirror backup includes all files that have changed since the last normal (full) or mirror backup using the files' last modified date and time stamp, missing files will also be deleted from the backup set. The resulting backup archive consists of either one compressed file or one folder. However, this process takes a long time especially on slow media like CD/DVD, REV Disks, zip drives, etc…

Therefore, when performing mirror backup on Removable devices it is recommended the following:

1. Keep you backup size small: it is recommended if you choose backup with compression that your data will range between 500 MB and 1 GB
2. Use Mirror backup without compression: if your mirror backup exceeds the recommended range, backup without compression in order to maintain fast backups. GBM is the only backup software that allows encryption of native backups (backup without compression) therefore, to keep prying eyes away from your valuable data, it is also recommended to encrypt your backups especially when they are placed on removable media
