How to create a Disaster Recovery virtual partition in Timeline 2


SYMPTOMS:

When you try to create Disaster Recovery start up disk (Virtual partition), you get the following error:

“Error cannot create Disaster Recovery disk, try again later”

RESOLUTION:

  1. Create an ISO image by going to:

    a) Tools > Create Disaster Recovery startup disk.

    b) Select the ISO image option > Click on Browse and select a local location like “Desktop” the click on OK.






  2. Extracting the ISO image:

    a) Go to where you have created the ISO image, right click on it > Rename > change the ISO image extension from .iso to .zip





    b)Now extract the Genie_DR file.





  3. Creating the virtual partition:

    a) Refer to the following link to download a program called "EasyBCD":

    b) Open EasyBCD > Click on "Add new entry" > And from the lower part of the screen select "WinPE". Then change the name from NST WinPE Image to any name you want, for example Genie Disaster Recovery.






    c) Now in the path field, click on browse and select the folder you extracted "Genie_DR" -> Open Sources folder -> Select "WINPE.wim" and click Open.





    d) Finally click on "Add entry".
