Mirror backups do not have a 2GB limitation, the restriction occurs only when you are doing mirror backups with compression without rollback. Any other scenario will not be restricted by this 2GB limitation. Mirror backups scan all files to delete missing files/folders from archive. Therefore, making it exceed this size will lead to considerably slow backup.
Recommendation: Backup without compression and use encryption for extra security
