How can I save the jobs on the secondary drive and not the default one?

Genie Backup Manager stores the jobs on the default drive even if you chose to install the software on the secondary drive.

The jobs are saved in the following paths by default:

  • For Windows Xp/2003 Operating Systems:
X:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\Genie-soft\GBMAPPLICATION\Jobs
  • For Windows Vista/7/8 Operating Systems:
X:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Genie-soft\GBMAPPLICATION\Jobs

RESOLUTION:

  1. Go to Start> Run> Type “regedit”

  2. Go to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Genie-Soft\GBM%PRODUCT%8\Main
Where %PRODUCT% is Home, Pro, or Server

  3. Double click the following value and change it to 1: AppDataPathType

  4. Double click “AppDataPath” and in the value, place the new path, without Genie-soft, GBMAPPLICATION, and Jobs folder as GBM will automatically create them.

For example, if the new folder location is:
    D:\Catalogs

Then when GBM opens, the catalogs will be created in:
    D:\Catalogs\Genie-soft\GBMAPPLICATION\Jobs

  5. Open GBM so the path can be created

  6. If you have old jobs, move them from:
    X:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\Genie-soft\GBMAPPLICATION\Jobs (For Windows XP and 2003)
    Or
X:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Genie-soft\GBMAPPLICATION\Jobs (For Windows Vista and 7)
    To
    %USERDEFINEDPATH%\Genie-Soft\GBMAPPLICATION\Jobs
Where %USERDEFINEDPATH% is the path entered in the AppDataPath value.
Applies to:
GBM 8 and 9
