7.0, the newest version of its award winning backup software. The first and only

to backup files over the internet to Genie9’s backup servers. The new
Online Backup service supports 128- bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certified by the
leading global provider of SSL certificates Thawte. It is seamlessly integrated
within Genie Backup Manager’s backup and restore wizards, and is as easy as
backing up to a local or LAN-connected hard drive.

Using the new online backup feature, users need only an internet connection, their
online backup account credentials and a copy of Genie Backup Manager, which can
be downloaded anytime from the Genie9 website, in order to restore their backed
up data from anywhere in the world. Even without Genie Backup Manager, users can
still have access to download their files and folders by pointing their browsers
to the Genie Online Backup website.

The new version employs 64-bit nonproprietary ZIP format compression, breaking the
4GB compressed file size boundary that was enforced in previous versions. It also
enables users to access their data using any ZIP format compatible decompressor,
making recovering data from corrupt backups possible and easy to do.
An enhanced optical storage media writing engine makes for more reliable CD/DVD
backups, and adds support for the new Dual-Layer DVDs technology, while the new
Logs Manager makes Genie Backup Manager’s logs and reports more accessible,
easier to manage, and a lot more informative.
